Hi! My name is SIMON. I'm a four-year-old DALMATIAN. Dad never had
a dog that was "his only" before he got me. So let me tell you,
he treats me REALLY SPECIAL. He found me through a referral from a lady
that has a DALMATIAN RESCUE. I was not at the rescue but my previous owners
asked them to help place me in a new home. You see, I had bitten a four-year-old
neighbor girl. I didn't want to hurt her. I just wanted her to stop laying
on my shoulder. I had had surgery on that shoulder and it really hurt.
She was also hitting me in the face with a stick. That hurt too! I just
wanted her to stop torturing me. But then my family felt they couldn't
trust me around children any more.
My new Dad doesn't have any children living with us so they just watch
me close when kids come to visit. I've never bitten anybody else but there
are a few I really don't care to see in MY backyard. I let them know it,
too. I'm really a wonderful, easy-going dog and SO very loving. I was named
by my previous owner's daughter after the chipmunk, SIMON. I liked that
name a lot so my new Dad kept it. My favorite pastime is playing ball.
No matter what you are doing in the yard, I'll pester you with the ball
until you throw it for me. Hey listen! Why don't you go on over to http://ddi.digital.net/~krispy/dogs.html
and meet Polka and Orion. They're really neat Dalmatians.

I'm a three-year-old GERMAN SHORT-HAIRED POINTER. My name is SARAFINA.
My family found me in the SOUTH BAY RECYCLER. I was listed under free pets.
My previous owner was a young man who had collected too many dogs and had
to let some of us go. I have the disposition that everyone warned my new
family about when they were looking for a Dalmatian to adopt. Everyone
said Dallys are hyper, nervous, etc. As easy-going as SIMON is, I am "hyper".
When we are playing ball, SIMON and I run after it. It's too big for TASHA's
mouth so she just runs and barks and keeps nipping at us. But if SIMON
gets the ball, I jump back and forth across the top of him and keep trying
to take the ball away. Mom says I think I'm a rabbit. Naaaa... I'm ALL
DOG!
I always want to be the center of attention and demand more if it's
not given generously. I won't leave people alone until they pet me for
awhile. Why don't you visit my favorite web site (other than MINE of course)
to see some GSH Pointers. It's at http://www.whc.net/gsp/
and it's got some pretty good lookin' studs there. Pardon me.... there's
a cat next door! Gotta run.

OK...so I'm last. No problem. I'm the best! My name is TASHA KATZE (Katze
is German for cat). I am a two-year-old Minature Pinscher. Dad and Mom
rescued me from an animal shelter. I got lost and I was scared. These people
caught me and locked me up with two other homeless dogs. Mommy named me
KATZE cause I'm supposed to be the cat she can't have. Dad has really severe
allergies to them. I'm glad! I'm MUCH better than any ol' cat! Dad insisted
on TASHA in front of KATZE. Can you imagine calling me CAT? Dad couldn't.
This picture of me was taken at PETCO on Bellflower in Long Beach. I'm
really not a vampire. They gave me a treat and then snapped my picture....
(grrrrrr).
My new Mom and Dad give me royal treatment. I have my own bed in the
front room. I even have a toy box. AND they let me out whenever I want
to run and play with the big dogs in the backyard. I love nipping and growling
at SARA. But I'm not really mad. I chase them when they get the ball and
pretend I'm going to take it away from them. SIMON just seems to ignore
me but SARA loves for me to run circles around the yard with her. Since
we have an 50' by 115' backyard, we can really go fast. Mom says she thought
SARA was extremely fast, but my short little legs can move so fast that
I can keep up with her easy...(well, almost)! You wanna see a REALLY neat
Min Pin? Check out Madame Gretel's Psychic Min Pin Hotline at A

She's just as cute as me AND she has a really neat sense of humor! Oh yeah,
she gives good advice too.

A NOTE FROM OUR MOM AND DAD
We have had many pets throughout the years. And each one of them had
their special personality. SIMON, SARA, and TASHA KATZE are right there
among the best of them. They are all EXTREMELY loving. There was a German
Shepherd/wolf mix, a Doberman Pinscher, four VERY special English Springers,
two Akitas, etc. Each dog (and cat) was special. Remembering their personalities
is a treat. I miss them all.
If you are considering getting a pet, please check
out the availability of beautiful, loving animals in our ANIMAL SHELTERS,
listings of FREE PETS, and especially the ANIMAL (dog, cat, etc) RESCUES.
Most pet stores have newsletters with information about how to find them.
These people are doing GREAT jobs at their own expense to keep some of
the most wonderful animals alive and well until they can find a fitting
family to take them. Please.....don't overlook them.
When TASHA came to us from the animal shelter they estimated
her age at 2 years. We did not have to go through house-training and all
the other things puppies need. Oh yes, she has made some mistakes, but
not often and not too severe. We do have to shut the doors to the bedrooms
when we leave her here alone or she will punish us by chewing on our slippers.
No matter how many "chewies" she has!
